The York Public School is comprised of York High School (9-12), York Middle School (6-8), York Enrichment Center (6-12) and York Elementary School (PK-5). York High School is classified by the Nebraska School Activities Association as a Class B school.
York High School and York Middle School are both accredited by and are members in good standing of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1907.
The York Public Schools offer a comprehensive program for students in grades preschool through twelfth grade. These programs cover a wide range from the "basics" to vocational, special education, computer education, alternative education and college-level courses. The York Public Schools offer and exemplary program through community education. The program is one of the best in the state and directs its resources to meet the needs of the district patrons in the areas of Adult Education, Adult Basic Education, Student and Adult Enrichment, and Pre-School Programs.
There is a concentrated and cooperative relationship between the school district and the community of York. The community holds in high regard the professionalism of the district teaching and personnel and provides an extremely strong support base for the educational activities of the schools. The motto, " A community is known by the school it keeps". is the foundation of our efforts in educating the young people in our community.
