COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Tech lab is designed to develop the student's ability to think, develop and utilize sources of information and technology, to gather information and data, to be able to analyze that information and data to make informed decisions. Students complete individual and group projects, units, modules, a technology paper and final media presentations.
Modules: Artificial Intelligence, Conceptual Physics, Auto Exploration, Ecology, Biotechnology, Meteorology, Flight Instrumentation, Flight Simulation, 123 Home Improvement, Publishing Design, Print Shop, 3D Home Design, Computer Problem Solving, Animation, 3D Garden Design, Photo Design and Editing, 3D Landscape.
Industrial Communications/Drafting....................6000

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Industrial Communications/Drafting is an introductory course designed to acquaint all students with the field of drafting, engineering, architecture, and communication technology. This course is exploratory in nature and is the basis of most industrial arts courses. The student will study the the principles of drafting through the drawing and study of single view, multi-view, sectional view, and pictorial view drawings. Emphasis will be placed on geometric construction, the proper use of the scale, neatness, accuracy, proper line construction, and precision drawing. Students will be introduced to the wide means of industrial communications and technology.
Mechanical Drafting....................6105

PREREQUISITE(S): Industrial Communications/Drafting
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Mechanical Drafting is designed to further develop drafting skills necessary for the student to meet basic entry level problems in the field of drafting, engineering and architecture. Emphasis will be placed on working drawings, sectional/auxiliary views drawings, fasteners and welding drawings. All students will be introduced to Computer Aided Drafting.
Architectural Drafting....................6110

PREREQUISITE(S): Industrial Communications/Drafting Intro/Mechanical
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Using skills learned in previous drafting course(s), the student will learn the fundamentals necessary to design and draw a set of house plans. Students will study construction materials, foundations, site preparation and layout, electrical plumbing code necessary to construction of residential building. Board and computer aided drafting will be utilized in the development of the house plans.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to develop the fundamental processes of hand and machine woodworking used in the construction industry. Emphasis will be on the fundamental theories and operations in the various areas of wood types, wood grades, hand tools, and machine woodworking tools. Use and care of hand and machine tools as well as coordination in the safe use of these tools will be stressed. Time will be devoted to proper project fabrication and finishing.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides for the development of a knowledge of advance woodworking using both hand and machine tools used in the manufacturing industry. Emphasis will be on the use of advanced machine operations in various areas of woodworking. Production line processes and product development. Students will be involved with the complete process of the planning process, manufacturing process, and selling process of a product to be manufacturing in class.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to give the student a working knowledge of the building and construction industry. During the course of a school year the students are involved in the actual construction of a home on the job site starting with the framing and continuing the project to completion. This course meets for two periods a day and involves the student in classroom experiences starting with safety on the job, safe tool and machine operations of all equipment used on construction, discussion and demonstrations of each component part of a house.
Job opportunities and job expectations are a major part of the class. Students will be exposed to contractors in many related areas and will learn to coordinate activities as well as how to get along and work with others.
