COURSE DESCRIPTION: Western Civilization is an investigative multimedia course with concentration in the following areas: Ancient Middle East and Egypt, classical Greece, the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages, the Age of Discovery, the Renaissance, the Rise of European Nation States, the World Wars, the Cold War, and Modern Challenges in the 21st Century.

PREREQUISITE(S): Grade 10, 11, 12
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Western Civilization II is a course for upperclassmen. It is a course that covers the same topics as Western Civilization, but at a more advantage level, with a greater emphasis on the 20th Century and challenges of the present-day world.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Political Science is a one semester course required for graduation. The course is designed to help the student to understand the structure and function of our political system, with emphasis on the national government. A study is made of the United States Constitution, the three branches of government (Legislative, Executive, and Judicial) at the national level, civil rights, and political processes (parties, voting, and elections), Nebraska state government and York city Government.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Economics is a one semester course required for graduation. The course is designed to help the student to understand the structure and functioning of our modified market economy, to understand economic rights and our economic responsibilities, and to improve our ability to be analytical and to solve economic problems.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: A semester overview course that discusses theories and vocabulary. The general topics of psychology include the brain, learning, normal and abnormal behavior, personality, and research.
